The recommended dose is one tablet a day. - Do not take more than this recommended dose of one tablet (20 mg) a day, even if you don't feel an improvement immediately. - You may need to take Nexium 24HR for a few days before experiencing the full effect. - Nexium 24HR should be taken for at least 7 days and up to 14 days. - Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you do not feel better while taking Nexium 24HR. If symptoms persist or recur within 2 weeks of completing the course, consult your doctor. Further examination may be required.

Contraindications

Nexium 24HR is contraindicated in patients with a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or at increased risk for this. Allergy

Nexium 24HR may cause your blood pressure to cause dizziness or lightheadedness, if you take these medicines. Therefore, tell your doctor if you feel lightheaded, or if you diarrhoea is coming on. Make sure you know the meaning of the following: 'erectile dysfunction' or 'passion deficit'. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to esomeprazole or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Nexium 24HR may be addictive even if you are receiving a higher dosage than recommended. In case you give this medicine to the patient, do not expect to stop the medicine. If you decide to stop giving this medicine, your symptoms will return, so it is recommended to continue working with your doctor and breathing exercises as usual.

Warnings

Do not use:

  • For children under 18 years of age.
  • If allergic to esomeprazole.
  • If allergic to any other proton pump inhibitor (omeprazole, rabeprazole, lansoprazole, pantoprazole).
  • If you are taking antiretroviral medicines, such as atazanavir.
  • If you are taking cilostazol, a medicine used to treat pain and/or cramping in the lower leg (or arms) due to inadequate blood flow to the muscles.

Directions

Adults 18 years, of age and over: Take 1 capsule daily for at least 7 days and up to 14 days.
